We’re an ungrateful lot, we intellectuals. Someone sweats their life away creating an entire new universe of knowledge, and what do we do? Throw it back in their faces as soon as it turns out to need a little modification or (sometimes) it turns out to be a little too difficult.
Or at least, so you would guess from the world’s treatment of Jean Piaget.
I will tell you what I think of Piaget. I think he was a Grade-A European intellect, on a par with Kant or Einstein.
